We are hirinng for Pharmacy Technician at Taos New Mexico. Pease go through the job requirement below

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Taos , NM 87571
Duration: 1 Year + Possible extension (3 - 6 months contract options)
Start Date: July 2025
Shift Schedule: Mon - Fri 8AM to 5PM - 40 hours a week

Qualification:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
License: Certified Pharmacy Technician - Nice to have
Certifications: BLS - Nice to have
Experience: Minimum 2 years Pharmacy technician experience is requied
Experience working with robotic prescription dispensing system is a MUST


Responsibilities:

Extensive pharmaceutical knowledge including drug names (generic/trade), dosage forms, strengths, and units of measure is essential.
Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately and perform precise pharmaceutical calculations using the metric system.
Proficiency in inventory control practices, including procurement, storage, distribution, and rotation of stock.
Technological proficiency in using pharmacy-related tools such as pharmacy software, POS systems, label printers, and drug counters.
Ensures proper labeling of prescriptions with appropriate usage directions and precautions.
Operates under supervision of the on-duty or Chief Pharmacist, ensuring compliance with pharmacy standards and protocols.
Processes prescriptions and determines billability per guidelines; enters and verifies data for reimbursement.
Communicates with providers to clarify prescriptions or gather necessary documentation for billing and patient records.
Manages insurance claims, including research, correction of incomplete data, and follow-up on rejected claims with Pharmacy Benefit Managers.
Acts as a billing system technical resource, offering training and orientation to staff as needed.
Physical and safety requirements include long periods of standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, manual dexterity, good vision, and adherence to healthcare safety protocols.
Compliance and documentation: Follows policies, maintains accurate patient insurance files, and adheres to all applicable rules and contract testing requirements.

Collaborates with the care team to review patient schedules and communicate patient needs and treatment recommendations.
Contacts patients for follow-up on diagnostics, referrals, appointments, and provides ongoing education and self-management support.
Maintains and tracks a panel of high-risk patients, monitors performance metrics monthly, and shares data with the team.
Triage responsibilities include directing walk-in or call-in patients from the team's panel to the appropriate services.
Initiates emergency procedures (e.g., CPR, calling Code Blue) when a physician is not present during critical situations.
Documents patient observations, nursing interventions, and coordinated care activities using a problem-oriented record system.
