JOB SUMMARY

The duties of the Pediatrician position include, but are not limited to, providing diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infant through adolescent, proper maintenance of records, and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

• Perform histories, physicals and prescribing a diagnostic, education, preventive and/or treatment plan within the standards of accepted medical practice - - - -
• Perform and/or order labs, diagnostic procedures, and making appropriate referrals as necessary - - - -
• Maintain patient records - - - -
• Adhere to proper charting protocols - - - -
• Coordinate continuity of medical care for patients - - - -
• Promote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene and prevention of disease - - - -
• Inoculate and vaccinate as required - - - -
• Perform minor surgery as necessary - - - -
• Report deaths and contagious diseases to governmental authorities - - - -
• Other responsibilities as assigned
  
  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Doctoral degree, either M.D. or D.O., in medicine - - - -
• Minimum of 5 years' experience - - - -
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a clinical environment - - - -
• Must have and maintain current New Mexico License in good standing - - - -
• Must have and maintain a current DEA License in good standing - - - -
• Board Certification
