Overview: Presbyterian Rust Medical Center is seeking a
compassionate and skilled Oncology Charge Nurse. Oncology RNs works
with patients who have, or who are at risk of getting, cancer. As a
Charge Nurse in the Oncology Unit, you will be responsible for
overseeing the daily operations of the unit and ensuring the
delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to patients with
cancer. You will lead and support a team of skilled nurses,
coordinating patient care activities and ensuring adherence to
clinical protocols and best practices. Your role will involve
collaborating with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare
professionals to provide comprehensive and individualized care
plans for patients. Additionally, you will play a key role in
mentoring and developing nursing staff, promoting a positive and
collaborative work environment. Type of Opportunity: Full Time FTE:

- Credentials: Registered Nurse - State of New Mexico or Compact
State Nursing License.
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing, BSN within 5 years of
hire
- Experience: 1 year Bedside experience required
- BLS certification required at time of hire.
- Oncology Chemotherapy certification Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology
treatments.
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, managing symptoms and
side effects.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, side
effects, and self-care.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff in the
Oncology Unit.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate
patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary
teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care
plans.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to nursing staff,
fostering professional growth and development.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with
clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
